Overview

The Responsible Gaming 2024–2025 initiative is a multi-state awareness campaign designed to educate and engage students, young gamers, and academic communities on the importance of making safe, balanced, and informed choices in the world of online gaming.

In a country where the gaming industry is projected to grow from USD 2.2 billion (2023) to USD 8.6 billion by 2028, this program comes at a crucial time—ensuring that growth is matched with a deep sense of digital responsibility.

Nationwide Impact

Through interactive workshops held across 32 colleges in 15 cities, the initiative reached 4,642 students across five key states:

  • Andhra Pradesh – 1,728 students
  • Karnataka – 1,014 students
  • Uttar Pradesh – 840 students
  • Maharashtra – 610 students
  • Tamil Nadu – 450 students

These sessions encouraged open dialogue, equipping students and faculty to critically examine the role of gaming in their lives—from fun to potential risk.

Themes That Matter

Workshops explored a wide range of relevant topics:

  • Balanced gaming habits and screen-time moderation
  • Mental health and behavioral impacts
  • State policies and legal frameworks
  • Digital privacy, safety, and redress mechanisms
  • Differences between casual gaming and real-money gaming

By combining expert facilitation with relatable content, the initiative promoted gaming as both cultural and social behavior—deserving of reflection, respect, and responsibility.
