Gaming has evolved into one of the world's most powerful social platforms, connecting over 3.2 billion players across virtual worlds where friendships are forged, communities thrive, and unforgettable experiences unfold.

I completed a two-month internship at Social & Media Matters as a Coordinator and Trainer. During this time, I coordinated training sessions for multilevel stakeholders across Rajasthan, contributed to strategy and lead generation and wrote blogs on digital safety that encompassed my background in psychology and gender studies. I not only completed assigned tasks but also had the freedom to produce quality work for my own growth. What I liked most was the lack of pressure to deliver or finish tasks; the hierarchy and points of contact made it easy to work at my own pace and space. We held meetings to provide feedback for mutual improvement and maintained open communication. There is always scope for improvement and I suggest offering internships in an offline mode as well to bridge any gaps. My favourite aspect is staying connected after the internships, we received personal invitations to workshops and programs, which was incredible.

My experience interning at Social and Media Matters was truly enriching and memorable. I had a great time working with the entire team during my internship phase. What I appreciated most was the freedom and encouragement to be creative, share my opinions, and think outside the box. The work environment is comfortable, open, and empowering, allowing you to explore your ideas while learning and growing professionally. The team also provided great opportunities to work on diverse projects and gain hands-on experience. I am grateful for the exposure, learning, and the positive work culture that made my internship such a valuable experience. I would highly recommend Social and Media Matters to anyone looking for a supportive and creatively stimulating place to work.

My internship with Social & Media Matters was one of the best learning experiences I’ve had so far. It gave me the opportunity to explore areas like AI, Trust & Safety, online safety, and sextortion that were completely new to me. The team was always approachable, closely connected with the interns, and genuinely open to suggestions and ideas. I gained valuable experience in research, writing, and understanding real-world issues through the work I was given. I’m truly grateful for the knowledge, exposure, and confidence I gained during my time with the organisation.

I had a great experience working with Social & Media Matters. My main work involved book research, and during that time I developed some valuable professional connections that I still reach out to. The work environment was supportive, and the organisational heads always understood my academic commitments while I was pursuing my Master’s. I was also given opportunities to express my thoughts as a youth at various podiums, like a panel discussion on Online Safety, where I shared my views and explored a new area of interest. Working with the organisation also gave me exposure to digital safety and trust. I would definitely recommend Social & Media Matters to anyone starting their professional journey.

I am thankful to the Social & Media Matters team for introducing me to AI Literacy. I have been wanting to learn these skills, and this opportunity came at the right time. The team supported me with all possible information and boosted my confidence to use AI Tools. I feel such training programmes rarely help the younger generation gain guidance and unlock new skills.
