Digital Detox – What does the Screen Say?

We all have been hearing the term a lot these days. Digital Detox is basically cutting down the time that we spend on our phones, laptops, and desktops. Parents these days are extremely worried about their kids spending time on mobile phones and also, what sort of content are they watching online.

We need to understand that teenagers are using virtual spaces to also build network, connections, learns, unlearn, prepare for their assignments and keeping up to what their friends have been doing in their lives.

Whilst you wish to do some digital parenting and monitor your child's screen limits, you need to keep in mind that the conversation cannot be thoroughly negative. Start on a positive note and discuss their likes/dislikes online. Share the health impacts of extreme screen time and also, you need to reflect the same behavioral change in your practices.

Have you heard of FOMO? Fear of Missing Out! Teenagers at times feel that they will miss out on a lot if they aren't online. As a parent, you need to build that understanding amongst your kids that the real-life experiences are equally important.
