Instagram vs Facebook Crossposting

Instagram….Facebook… Hashtag… Desktop… App… total chaos?

Well well well now it comes to an end.

Yup both the platforms have enabled crossposting to make lives easier for some of us.

So if you are like our friends at Trip for Cause (super crew giving meaning to your holiday, in fact our first team retreat is with them next week so do check em out), just starting off on social media, it's a lot of work. And now it just got easier.

Step 1. Finding the cross post button on your Facebook page

Its just being rolled out so if you don't find it dont panic be patient and it will soon show up, If you have the feature, you’ll see the Instagram post option at the bottom of the post creation screen when you start a new post on your Facebook page.

Step 2. Create an image post.

It's pretty much what you have been doing all the while, just a small twist, * instagram won’t support a vertical photo taller than a 4:3 ratio. If you upload a photo with dimensions taller than that ratio, your photo will be cropped on Instagram.

And for the #’s

  1. You could put it in your Facebook post.
  2. Add them on the Insta app once its been posted (always a good practice to check)
  3. Or just comment below it with your beloved #’s
Step 3. Publish the post

At first it will ask you for your username and password so keep it handy, (also advisable to turn off your 2 factor authentication on Insta)

Having shown you the magic trick, here is some algorithm realities, original post will ALWAYS score better on the ranking than a copied one, so we old school crews would still say post it directly on Instagram, but then time is money so at times saving time could be helpful. Make an informed choice.
