Role of Social Media In Work Life Balance

On the 26th of July we had an amazing opportunity to interact with scientists at CSIR - HRDG. The group consisted of 30 women scientists from across India. We began the conversation with the use of social media platforms, to no surprise Facebook was the most popular platform, followed by WhatsApp and Instagram.

We shared the best practices of how to use Social Media for work, for example, while Facebook sees many private posts, there are dedicated groups on Facebook that just focus upon a specific topic, be is science, social work, sports. Finding your group and connecting with your tribe ensures you stay up to date about what's happening in your field across the world.

On Twitter there is an amazing function on Lists, it's a curated group of accounts. You can create your own customized list as per your interest. Its an extremely time saving function also ensures you stay focused on your topic of interest.

The second part of the workshop was about how to stay safe in today’s digital times. We shared the various forms of cyber crime and also our cyber crime cell directory, where one can reach out in case you need any help.

At social media matters we are committed to helping survivors of cyber crime, for this we have a dedicated WhatsApp helpline. We request all of you to spread awareness about cyber crime, if you have any questions please get in touch with us.
