TrueCaller ain't that true after all! Thanks to our friends at Internet freedom foundation we became aware of the actions being taken by TrueCaller on behalf of their users!

IMPORTANT: Uninstall @Truecaller immediately. They sent an unauthorized SMS from my phone to UPI registration. I repeat, this SMS has gone FROM my inbox. Now this is beyond sketchy behaviour, this would be treated like a criminal act in Europe ! Sadly in India our laws are still in the making, presently here is where we stand

TrueCaller of course is saying its bug, well honestly it's some significant amount of coding that is required to complete the following steps.

Step 1: Download the mobile application.
Step 2: Create your profile by entering your details such as name, virtual ID and password. The virtual ID you create will be your payment address.
Step 3: Go to Add/Link/Manage Bank Account option on the app and link your bank and account number with the previously created virtual ID.

And they said a bug did it? Seems like quite a well programmed one!

There are many app’s we install just for fun, our advice is please by wary of apps before installing them and providing them all the access to your data, what looks free in the beginning could come with a heavy cost.
